Studio X designed a buyer-facing showroom for premium kitchenware brand Lee Yuen Housewares.

Lee Yuen are a major supplier to the US and European kitchenware market, selling to household names such as Williams Sonoma, Whittards Of Chelsea and Lakeland. It is precisely the buying directors of firms such as these that this project was designed to welcome, engage and serve.

The scheme was conceived as a premium, buyer-facing environment following an extensive renovation that repositioned the space for international commercial engagement.

Working within a tight footprint, the layout was reorganised to improve circulation, product visibility, and flexibility for buyer presentations. The design creates a clear and adaptable framework for showcasing branded ranges, with materials and detailing selected to provide a neutral backdrop that allows the products to take prominence.

A sliding library ladder provides access to the full height of the perimeter display wall, and references the heritage of specialist trade showrooms.

Material choices and detailing were developed to provide a calm, neutral backdrop, allowing colour, texture, and product form to remain the primary focus throughout the space.

(Approach)Every material and finish decision was made in service of the product range. Stone surfaces, perforated metal panels, and a restrained colour palette - ensuring that the product itself remains the focal point .

Before & after

The existing space was a conventional, partitioned storage and display room with poor circulation and limited visibility across the product range. The brief called for a complete rethink, opening up the layout, consolidating display into a legible system, and creating an environment capable of hosting formal buyer presentations.

The redesign reorganised the showroom around clearer circulation, improved product visibility, and a more legible buyer journey. Storage, display, and demonstration zones were rationalised to support both day-to-day use and formal buyer presentations.

Storage is integrated rather than hidden, and dedicated areas for product demonstration and consultation are embedded naturally within the flow of the space.
